By using the NFDRC Mobile App, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, please refrain from using the App.

The National Fire Data Repository Center (NFDRC) Mobile App (“the App”) is a national public safety application developed to capture, store, analyze, and share fire-related data across Nigeria. The App is owned by the Federal Fire Service (FFS) and operated in partnership with 2TOC Solutions Ltd as its technical partner.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the NFDRC Mobile App.

Information We Collect

a. User Identification Data

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Organization / Agency (e.g. Fire Service, NSCDC, NEMA)
  • Officer ID or Service Number (where applicable)

b. Fire Incident Data

  • Location (including GPS coordinates)
  • Date and time of incident
  • Type and classification of fire incident
  • Response details and resources deployed
  • Photographs, videos, and audio notes (where submitted)
  • Cause, impact, casualties, and outcomes

c. Device & Technical Data

  • Mobile device type and operating system
  • IP address and general network information
  • App usage statistics and interaction logs
  • Crash reports and performance diagnostics

d. Location Data

  • Real-time GPS location when you choose to report or update an incident.
  • Background location (only where explicitly granted by the user) to support accurate incident mapping and response analysis.
We do not collect: biometric data, bank card details, your contact list, or personal messages from your device.

We use the information collected through the App to:

  • Record and analyze fire incidents and related emergencies nationwide.
  • Improve mobilisation and response time by authorised agencies.
  • Generate statistics and policy reports for government and stakeholders.
  • Support fire risk mapping, predictive analytics, and prevention programmes.
  • Enhance training, enlightenment, and enforcement activities.
  • Support accountability, auditing, and verification of reported incidents.
  • Improve the NFDRC platform, user experience, and system performance.

We may share data, strictly on a need-to-know basis, with authorised agencies and partners such as:

  • Federal Fire Service (FFS) and State Fire Services
  • National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)
  • Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
  • Nigerian Police Force (NPF)
  • Federal Ministry of Interior
  • Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON)
  • FRSC, NMDPRA, and other national safety regulators
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with unauthorised commercial entities for marketing purposes.

Data Storage & Security

We implement multi-layered security controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of NFDRC data, including:

  • AES-256 encryption for data at rest.
  • TLS 1.3 or equivalent for data in transit.
  • Role-based access control and audit logging.
  • Blockchain or similar techniques to verify authenticity of critical incident records.
  • Regular security assessments and vulnerability testing.

Data is hosted on secure servers with redundancy and disaster recovery mechanisms. Access is restricted to authorised staff and agencies based on clearly defined roles.

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal profile data you have provided.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal profile (incident records may be retained where required for public interest and legal compliance).

Location Permissions

The App may request permission to access your device’s location. This is used to:

  • Capture accurate geographical coordinates of fire incidents.
  • Enable geospatial analysis, heatmaps, and risk predictions for fire safety planning.

You can disable location access at any time in your device settings. However, some core features (such as accurate incident reporting and mapping) may not function properly without location data.

Cookies & Analytics

The NFDRC Mobile App does not use advertising cookies. Limited analytics and technical logs may be collected to:

  • Monitor system performance and reliability.
  • Detect and prevent misuse or security threats.
  • Improve user experience and interface design.

Children’s Privacy

The NFDRC Mobile App is primarily intended for authorised officers, agencies, and trained personnel. It is not designed for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
